Hi everyone,

I did a silly thing and decided to switch to Linux today. My laptop is no longer functional, it talks in strange tongues now and will not do anything. I will be back when my life is a little less ruined.

T.

 1. cool

linux users in jordan = whatever # + tololy…

if u need any help, el 3abeet is here
2. Tololy:

Drop me a line. Maybe I can help you get your laptop back in working order.
3. See, that’s why I’m sticking to Windows :P

 4. YA 7aram!

I feel for you, the number of Linux users in Jordan FINALLY reached 3! Congratulations

But after your experience, it’ll probably go back to -5 :)

LOL!

Oops! I didn’t mean to Laugh out loud

 5. This is a good nerd test, Tololy :)

I ahve a lot of experience with switching back and forth between different operating systems, from back in the 1980s and early 1990s. Sometimes for fun, and sometimes for work. At one time I had my system configured to hot boot 1 of 4 different OSes depending on what I needed or wanted to run at the time. There isn’t one time when I installed a new OS and said "OMG this is so cool, I’m really glad I did this!" - which is why I don’t change OSes uinless somebody puts a gun to my head, anymore. But it can be fun in a demeneted and masochistic kind of way, and it’s always a good learning experience. So, good for you :)
7. Sorry to hear you had a bad experience! Did you try Ubuntu? It is the friendliest Linux version to start out with…

 8. Ok, I’m going to say what nobody wants to hear, but it needs to be said anyway: switch to Mac.

 9. You must’ve been talking to some Linux enthusiast who painted a rosy picture of life on Linux.

While Linux is a far superior OS than M$ Window$, it doesn’t come with nearly as much driver and hardware support as Windows does.

Because of that fact, you should only go into Linux if you know your hardware is supported, or if you can write drivers for your hardware.

It makes a lot of sense these days to get a laptop with Linux already installed, and then install Vista or XP as a second OS.

Also, Mac OS X is not so bad. In fact, Mac Books are the best choice nowadays because you can actually have Vista, XP, Mac OS X and a few flavors of Linux running on a single machine (if so you desire)
